| THE OLD CHAPEL AT COANWOOD - BUILT 1883
Originally a Wesleyan Chapel this character property has been tastefully converted into spacious accommodation sleeping up to 8 people with ease. Whilst offering all the comforts of home many of the original features remain including the arched windows and original vaulted ceiling in the School room.
The Old Chapel is a detached property with an enclosed private garden & parking for up to 4 cars. It sits in a rural farming community with access via a quiet country lane. Opposite is a small caravan park & campsite which has a licensed clubhouse and children’s play area. As well as unobstructed views of rural Northumberland the Chapel is centrally positioned in the South Tyne Valley, an area nominated by Northumbria Tourist Board as a place of outstanding natural beauty. It provides an excellent base for exploring the local attractions like Hadrian’s Wall, and the beautiful county of Northumberland. The Northern Lakes, Scottish Borders and Tynemouth coastline are all within an hours drive.
Close to the A69 the Chapel is in the hamlet of Coanwood. The nearest town is Haltwhistle (5 miles) which has a good selection of local shops, and a main line train station. There are a number of good local pubs the nearest (which also serves food) is just over a mile away. Although this area is very peaceful and relaxing having your own transport is recommended .We welcome families and adult parties – We do allow pets by prior arrangement only. There are a wide variety of activities to suit every age group .We would particularly recommend trying some of the great country walks and cycling routes right on the doorstep !
